Lot 5052 VERY FINE COLT NEW LINE 30RF SPUR TRIGGER REVOLVER

. Cal. 30RF. S# 9118. There were only approx 11,000 of these small frame spur triggers mfg in 30RF from 1874-76. It is fitted with a 2 1/4" round bbl with brass blade front sight. The barrel is marked on the top with the 2-line "COLT'S PT F.A. MFG CO / HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." bbl address and a nice etched panel reading "COLT NEW 30". It has a long flute 5-shot cylinder. The bbl and cylinder are both blued. The frame is case colored. Trigger & top of hammer are fire blued. Matching rosewood grips. CONDITION: this example is very fine. The bbl & cyl retain 90% of their original bluing. The etching is very fine and clear. The markings are crisp. The frame has 90% lightly thinning original case coloring. The trigger has 70% of the fire blue remaining with some wear at the end of the spur having a grey patina in the void. The hammer has 95% of the fire blue remaining on the top. Grips retain most of their original varnish with some light wear to the high edges and a few very light scattered handling marks. Nice bore with light rifling wear. (01-28883/ZAL).
